1. The development of laser rapid prototyping (RPM) technology for precision mold parts is rapid. China has reached the international level and is gradually achieving commercialization. The main commercialized rapid prototyping processes in the world include SLA(Stereolithography), LOM(Layer-by-Layer Manufacturing), SLS(Selective Laser Sintering), and 3D-P(Three-dimensional Printing).
Tsinghua University introduced the SLA250(stereolithography or photosensitive resin laser curing) equipment and technology from the American 3D Company and conducted research and development. After several years of efforts and multiple improvements, it has refined and launched the "M-RPMS- Multi-functional rapid Prototyping Manufacturing System" (featuring layered solid manufacturing -SSM and melt extrusion molding -MEM). This is the only system in the world with independent intellectual property rights of our country that possesses two rapid prototyping processes (national patent), and it has a relatively good performance-to-price ratio.
2. Moldless multi-point forming technology is another advanced manufacturing technology that uses a group of height-adjustable punches to replace traditional molds for the surface forming of sheet materials. The moldless multi-point forming system mainly uses CAD/CAM/CAT technology as a means to quickly and economically achieve the automatic forming of three-dimensional surfaces. The University of Technology has undertaken a key national scientific and technological research project related to moldless forming and has independently designed and manufactured moldless multi-point forming equipment with international leading levels.

Compared with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States, the University of Tokyo in Japan and Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan, China's precision mold parts technology is in a leading position in both theoretical research and practical application, and is moving towards promotion and application.
3. Resin stamping dies were successfully applied for the first time in the trial production of domestic sedans. Faw Mould Manufacturing Co., Ltd. designed and manufactured 12 sets of resin molds for the trial production of the new Xiaohongqi sedan. These 12 sets of molds are drawing molds for large and complex inner and outer panels such as the trunk, engine hood, front and rear left and right wing panels, etc. The main feature of these molds is that the mold surfaces are based on the main models processed by CAD/CAM. The mold is cast and formed with high-strength resin refined by Ciba from Switzerland. The gap between the punch and die is precisely controlled by imported special wax sheets. The dimensional accuracy of the mold is high, and the manufacturing cycle can be shortened by half to two-thirds. The manufacturing cost can be saved by about 10 million yuan (12 sets of molds). It has opened up a new path for the trial production and small-scale production of sedans in our country, which is a domestic first. Experts from Ciba Fine Chemicals in Switzerland believe that it can reach the international level of the 1990s.
